The last days of summer and then back to school!

Ahhh...those pictures were how we spent our last few days of summer this August. We were lucky (nay privileged) to get to take Sister Fran Applegate to her mission home in Sacramento, what a busy lady she is going to be! We helped Grandma settle in (with many pictures taken of course) and then the two of us headed toward San Francisco. What a place! It was my first trip into California, and I couldn't have been more pleased to spend it with my sweets. We stayed in a fabulous timeshare condo just one block away from Chinatown. Michael and I of course spent our first night eating great noodle dishes and looking for Chinese sunflower seeds(Michael had been craving them from his last trip to China and was insistent on searching every vendor until we found them..and yes he did find them, and yes those seed shells are currently all over his work desk.lol) The next day we mozied on over to Fishermen's Warf to celebrate our "its been a year since our first date" celebration. We rode the trolley, ate some delicious Italian Food, and laid on the beach.(I have documentation of the awkward places sand accumulated on our backsides, but..for privacy's sake I won't put them on here!) We drove back into Sacramento the next night, said our sad goodbyes to Grandma(I miss you grandma/sister applegate) and flew out the next morning. (bean did not enjoy his first plane ride, he squirmed all over the place for the hour long flight!!) Overall, it was such a relaxing trip and we discovered even more about ourselves.(for instance, we are highly addicted to watching odd olympic events such as womens fencing. have you seen those girls?? They scream and huff like mad animals, its intense!)

But of course, summer must come to an end and we both are back full time in school. I'm busy with the task of getting my last two prerequisites finished for Respiratory Therapy . The biggest challenge will be to conquer the arduous task of understanding my Physiology/LAb teacher. She has the thickest French accent I have ever heard. If you have ever taken any sort of medical class, you realize the difficult situation that arises with this. (What did she just say? trachea or tract? ack! how can i take notes??)Michael is busily finishing up his last fall semester at Weber in Business Administration with a Japanese minor. We are both anticipating his LSAT exam and applying for various law schools in the next few months. He has a few in mind and I'm sure he will be more than happily accepted..just not sure where yet. The end of this year will bring about huge changes and also reveal much about what our future holds. Its an exciting and nerve wracking time for certain!

On a final note here, baby bean is doing wonderfully and I can feel him most of the time now. I can tell he likes my snacks of strawberries and veggie corn dogs the most because he somersaults for minutes after I eat. I will start going to see Dr. Z (coolest baby doctor ever by the way) every two weeks in a bit here just to keep a closer eye on him. Michael and I have finally entered the wonderful world of baby preparation this past week. We bought a crib, pack n play, and a rocking chair(sounds old ladyish, but I adore it) ..and let me tell you these things don't come cheap especially for us starving students. :)
